A group of unknown people broke through the guards into the front door, and one of the attackers threw a bomb. Fortunately, neither the Grand Duke himself, nor his St. Petersburg guest Minister of the Interior Plehve suffered. The head of the Moscow Security Department, who closed them from the explosion, died on the spot. The student who threw the bomb also died from his wounds, and another bomber was detained. The rest of the group is wanted.

This news stirred up a wave of controversy in secular salons. Adherents of the monarchy condemn the bloody terror, but there are those who justify the bombers. In the salon of Anna Pavlovna Finikova, things got to the point that the guests were divided into two camps. Anna is against any talk of a revolution in her house. But her sister Daria wants everyone to know about the atrocities committed by the royal henchmen.

They say he shot himself, but no one knows why.
